Hello there everyone~! I do hope you are having a wonderful week?!
Mine is VERY busy - I have a lot going on on ALL fronts so am feeling
a little overwhelmed by it all but it won't last forever!!
Recently I played along with this month's Prima BAP {Build-a-Page Sketch}.
I LOVED Jen's sketch - SUPER awesome - & I was definitely inspired by it,
although at the end of it my layout veered off the visual path somewhat :))))
I set out to create a masculine layout with this beautiful photo of my son,
who is now 16 now, so I have STRICT instructions from him now - NO FLOWERS!!
{he did NOT mention BLING, lucky for me, hehehe....}
so I began with a neutral base from the Cartographer collection.
I have made a resolution with myself, to use up all my older Prima patterned
chipboard this year, so I tucked in a couple of pieces as you can see,
along with some gauze & the pretty clock that comes on most
of the Prima packaging.
As I really wanted to use this photo, & it is landscape orientated, not portrait,
I made my own "card" with Color Bloom Sprays, where I added some
Prima word stickers describing my son's personality.
More Prima chipboards on this side as well as a Prima wooden ticket
tucked under my "journaling card". Just look at the depth you can
create with the Color Bloom Sprays. They have not disappointed me!!
For the base I gessoed first, then I used the circles stencil like the one in the sketch,
together with some Art Sugar, but it is so subtle that it's hard to spot in the photos
except for the main photo. I then sprayed & stamped.
Before I began I randomly {following the diagonal line of the composition}
placed some Prima Princess stickers {shhhhh...he doesn't need to know....}
& some old circular alpha stickers, which I then intentionally covered
with gesso, just to add some more interesting texture.
If you scroll back up to the main photo you can spot them!
Thanks so much for swingin' by!!

I always stand in awe before layouts with no flowers! Amazing work, I have to learn how to do it as well! Though I have some time before my toddlers start giving me instructions lol.
Good luck with the BAP!
Gorgeous Helen! Love all the splatters and stamped doilies!
Soooooo gorgeous! I love love love the colors, the misting and the pearls!!!!!
This is stunning, that back ground is awesome!
Good on you not using flowers....love the texture & dimension....& I won't say a word about PRINCESSES and 'pretty' clock faces!!!!! In all seriousness, this is a fab boy page:):):) Oh, & all power to you using up Old Stash!!!
A standout page Helen. Totally masculine even though you "snuck" some things in there! Great job dipping into the stash; it always feels good :D
Awesome page Helen!! The background is spectacular and I love that you snuck in some bling (he!he!) and good for you using up some of your stash ... always a good thing!! Love this!! ox

How I wish I could also start using up my old stash!!!This just might inspire me to do so...loving all the different "pretty's" you managed to snug in...lol!
Such a gorgeous page - beautiful photo as well! Your background is amazing!
No flowers! gasp! No just kidding, I can see my boy coming up with that rule at some point soon...so lets not tell him about all that! Enjoyed this post quite a lot there Helen! Hope things slow down enough, but not so much that you are bored! ;-)

Wonderful boy page Helen!! the splatter looks spectacular and your boy is big...oh my how times flies. Good idea to use all the old stuff, I always try to mix the old with the new. I'm super busy too, not much time to blog or social media these days...:( hope thing are great for you over there, I always have you in my thoughts. Gorgeous work hon! xxx
Great masculine page and background! Egads, no flowers! I'd go crazy! Sorry I haven't been by more .. still under the weather but thinking of you!
Wonderful page !! Such a good interpretation of the sketch, especially love the black, doily details...even tho doilies would be considered "feminine" the heavy, dense blackness of these adds a masculine solidity.
hahahahahahahaha love it... and clearly he did not mention doilies either.... a fab mix of boy meets bling. Perfect balance and lovely photos. Love it.
Gorgeous mixed media page Helen. I love to see how well you use pearls and sometimes flowers on your masculine pages...and they always look so good.
swoon and sigh .. Helen this is both charming and creative , with so many amazing elements .. love x
As always, I love your combination of elements and exquisite photography. A beautiful LO!
Gorgeous page....love the details and layers!I also have so many older Prima chipboard pieces too...and I am also on a mission to use them...so good on you for tucking into the stash! ;-)
